Story of Ajwa Bampla : Once upon a time, there was a powerful king named Gyan Chand who ruled over a kingdom called Champawatgarh. One day, four wrestlers from different parts of the world came to the kingdom and challenged the king to send a champion to fight them. If the king did not send a fighter, they threatened to take over his kingdom.

King Gyan Chand was worried and called his advisors to seek their advice. They suggested that the strongest warrior in their kingdom, Mani Padyar, should be sent to fight the wrestlers. So, the king sent a message to Mani Padyar, asking him to come and fight the wrestlers.

When the messengers reached Mani Padyar’s house, they found him smoking in his balcony, while his wife, Janjali, was cooking food. Mani Padyar was an old man with a hump that reached the sky and a belly that touched the ground. When he read the king’s message, he accepted the challenge and started preparing for the journey.

Mani Padyar’s wife tried to dissuade him from going, but he was determined. He smoked his huge hookah, which weighed nine maunds, and tied nine maunds of roasted flour and tobacco to his waist for his journey. He also tied wooden planks to his front and back to keep his body straight. He wore his armor and set out for Champawatgarh.

On the way, he met a demon named Bhumneshwar, who challenged him to a fight. They fought for two days and two nights, and finally, Mani Padyar killed the demon. He rested for a while, smoked his hookah, and continued his journey.

When Mani Padyar reached Champawatgarh, he was received with great honor. However, the people were surprised to see an old man as their champion. Mani Padyar asked the king to stop the rations of the four wrestlers. This made the wrestlers angry, and they threatened to destroy Champawatgarh.

The next day, Mani Padyar went to fight the wrestlers. They attacked him all at once, but he fought bravely for six days and six nights. In the end, he fell to the ground and died.

King Gyan Chand was saddened by Mani Padyar’s death and sent a message to Salu and Malu, the twin brothers from Bawalikot, who were known for their strength and bravery. Salu and Malu were only twelve years old and had a common wife named Dudukela. They agreed to go to Champawatgarh and fight the wrestlers.

When the messengers arrived at Salu and Malu’s house, they were playing dice in their balcony. They read the king’s message and prepared to go to Champawatgarh. Dudukela, their wife, was worried and begged them not to go, but they did not listen. She asked them to let her accompany them, but they refused and locked her in a room.

When Salu and Malu reached Champawatgarh, they were welcomed with great honor. They ordered the supplies of the wrestlers to be stopped, which made the wrestlers very angry. They went to King Gyan Chand and asked if he had any other warriors to send.

Salu and Malu fought against the wrestlers for eight days and eight nights. In the end, the wrestlers killed them. Dudukela, their wife, was heartbroken and wept for days. She heard a voice from heaven, which told her that she would have a son who would avenge his father’s death.

Dudukela gave birth to a baby boy, whom she named Ajwa Bampla. She was afraid that the baby might meet the same fate as his father, so she threw him into a nettle bush and became blind with grief.

The baby, who was a born hero, survived by eating the leaves, stems, and roots of the nettle bush. When he was six months old, he went to his mother and asked for food. Dudukela was amazed and asked him to prove that he was her son. The baby made her right breast produce milk and restored her vision. She then recognized him as her son and named him Ajwa Bampla.

Ajwa grew up to be a strong and brave boy. When he was twelve years old, he rode a tiger to his uncle’s house, which surprised everyone. His mother told him about his father’s death and asked him to be careful.

One day, four messengers from King Gyan Chand arrived at Ajwa’s house, asking him to come to Champawatgarh and fight the wrestlers. Ajwa’s mother did not want him to go, but he was determined. She asked him to prove his strength before she let him go. Ajwa jumped over a pole one hundred cubits high and crushed ritha nuts with his feet. He also lifted his father’s clubs, which weighed one hundred maunds, with his little fingers.

Ajwa’s mother was convinced of his strength and allowed him to go to Champawatgarh. He rode his father’s horse, which flew up to the clouds and dropped down on Champawatgarh. The people of the kingdom welcomed him with great honor.

Ajwa stopped the supplies of the wrestlers, which made them angry. The next day, Ajwa went to the wrestlers and pretended to be a weak child. The wrestlers attacked him, but he revealed his true strength and fought bravely. He killed two of the wrestlers and injured the other two.

Ajwa went to King Gyan Chand’s court and showed him the eyes and nose of the wrestlers as proof of his victory. The king was impressed and gave Ajwa half of his kingdom as a reward. Ajwa’s mother became the queen of Champawatgarh, and Ajwa ruled the kingdom with justice and fairness.

One day, the relatives of the wrestlers invaded Champawatgarh and caused trouble for the king and his people. King Gyan Chand realized his mistake in punishing Ajwa and sent a message to him, asking him to come and fight the invaders. Ajwa returned to Champawatgarh, defeated the invaders, and restored peace in the kingdom. The king rewarded Ajwa with more land and wealth, and Ajwa lived happily ever after.
