Story of Adhapati Chauhan and Dhamdeo Chauhan

A long time ago, there were seven brothers from the Chauhan clan who lived in a place called Khailapur. The oldest brother was named Dhamdeo. One day, Dhamdeo and his brothers went hunting in the Gupti Patal forest. They chased a deer, but it got away, and they eventually found a partridge. They shot at it, but the partridge flew away into the neighboring land of Mayapur Hat.

In Mayapur Hat, there were also seven brothers from the Pundir clan. Their names were Jaiteg Pundir, Asal Teg Pundir, Alti Pundir, Batli, Kaituri, Aurati, and Burati. When the partridge arrived in Mayapur Hat, the Pundir brothers caught it and locked it in a room.

Dhamdeo and his brothers followed the partridge to Mayapur Hat and asked the Pundir brothers to give them the bird. However, Asal Teg Pundir said that since the bird was in his territory, he would keep it even if it meant risking his life. Adhapati Chauhan, one of Dhamdeo’s brothers, tried to convince the Pundir brothers not to fight over a bird, but they refused to listen.

Adhapati Chauhan broke into Asal Teg’s room, and when the partridge tried to fly away, Asaldeo, another Pundir brother, killed it and hung its head over his door. Adhapati tried to take the partridge, but the Pundir brothers fought back. The Pundir brothers eventually killed all the Chauhan brothers in a fierce battle.

Adhapati Chauhan had seven sons named Jit Singh, Bhup- Singh, Kedar Singh, Uttam Singh, and Bhopal Singh. When they heard about their father’s and uncles’ deaths, their mother, Chaurura Chauhani, encouraged them to seek revenge against the Pundir brothers.

The Chauhan brothers went to Mayapur Hat and challenged the Pundir brothers to a fight. After a long and difficult battle, the Pundir brothers killed all the Chauhan brothers. Chaurura Chauhani cursed the Pundir brothers and fainted. In the end, the entire family of brave Chauhans perished because of a simple partridge.
