Story of Asa Rawat : Once upon a time, there was a brave warrior named Asa Rawat. He lived in a big fort called Bhopatikot. Asa Rawat had a lot of grain stored and was very wealthy. One day, a terrible famine struck Bhopatikot, and all of Asa Rawat’s grain supplies were used up. He was worried that his large family would starve to death.

Asa Rawat decided that he didn’t want his family to suffer, so he planned to kill himself and his family with poison, rather than see them die of hunger. He only left one of his wives, who was pregnant, alive. After the rest of the family had died, Asa Rawat’s wife gave birth to a strong and beautiful baby boy named Bhana Rawat.

When Bhana Rawat was born, many strange things happened. The portico of his palace cracked, and the four famous horses of his father died. The four tubs in which the baby was bathed broke one after another. As Bhana grew up, he showed incredible strength and performed many amazing feats.

Bhana Rawat and his mother were very poor and unhappy. Bhana went to his aunt’s house, who was very rich, to ask for help. His aunt was mean to him and said that he was not a real prince because his father had died before he was born. This made Bhana very sad, and he left his aunt’s house. He went from place to place begging for help and eventually reached Kulunikot.

In Kulunikot, there was a prince named Dharni Kaluni. Bhana went to Dharni and asked for a job. Dharni was impressed by Bhana’s beauty and thought he might be a prince in disguise. Dharni had a daughter named Saru, who took care of his herds and flocks in the forest. Dharni told Bhana that if he wanted to work for him, he should go to the forest and help Saru take care of the animals.

When Bhana reached the forest, Saru warned him that her two fierce buffaloes, Chandu and Bhandu, would kill any man who went near them. But Bhana wasn’t afraid, and he pulled the buffaloes’ horns. Saru was amazed by Bhana’s strength and beauty, and they fell in love. Bhana asked Saru if she was promised to anyone else, and she told him she was betrothed to one of the seven Butola brothers who lived in Gwari Tachwar.

Bhana was determined to marry Saru, so he went back home, put on his father’s armor, and rode his famous spotted war horse to Gwari Tachwar. He challenged the Butola brothers to fight him. The Butola brothers were governors of their land, and they gathered a large army to fight against Bhana.

Bhana fearlessly charged into the army of the Butola brothers and killed many of them. The ground was covered in blood, and there were many dead bodies. The Butola brothers managed to escape and went to Dharni Kaluni’s house to ask for his daughter’s hand in marriage. Dharni had already anticipated that Bhana would come for Saru, so he prepared a trap with sharp spikes around the marriage altar.

As the Butola brothers and Saru were about to be married, Bhana appeared as if from the clouds. His horse stepped on the sharp spikes and fell down, injuring both the horse and Bhana. Despite his injuries, Bhana managed to kill all seven Butola brothers and their followers, as well as Dharni Kaluni and his people. He then lay down on Saru’s lap and died.

Saru was heartbroken and prepared a funeral pyre for Bhana. She dressed in a white sari, applied vermilion to her forehead, and climbed onto the funeral pyre to die with Bhana. This act of love and devotion is known as Sati.

In this story, Bhana Rawat is a brave and strong warrior who loves Saru and is willing to do anything to marry her. Despite facing many challenges and obstacles, he remains determined and fights for what he believes in. Saru is a kind and caring young woman who loves Bhana and chooses to die with him, showing the depth of her love and devotion.
