Dehradun Haridwar Highway Toll Tax trial caused huge traffic.

On 18-02-2021 people stuck in the traffic for more than 90 minutes on Dehradun Haridwar Highway while the trial for Toll Tax was done. As the the highway has been developed by NHAI the new Toll plaza has been constructed at Lacchiwala Range with 10 lanes with 5 lanes for right and 5 lanes for left side traffic.

Toll tax of Rs 70 (for one side travel) has been fixed for cars, jeeps and vans. However, for local vehicles, Rs 35 for one way travel and Rs 105 for 24 hours had been fixed. For those wishing to commute regularly, a monthly toll charge had been fixed at Rs 2295.

The locals are not happy with charging toll tax from Locals and Citizen of Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand Kranti Dal led a protest at newly constructed Lachhiwala Toll Plaza. Their Demand is of waived of toll tax from citizen of Uttarakhand. People come up with placards and said Uttarakhand is a tourist state and revenue can be generated from the people who are visiting Uttarakhand for tourism.
